Due to the swift spreading of Coronavirus in Spain, we—the Christ is the Answer team—had to implement some measures of security in our camp in view to decrease the possibilities of contamination. All evangelistic activities have been thus postponed and all gatherings within our camp have been cancelled. No socializing is allowed. Everyone is confined to his living quarter, and if anyone goes outdoor—in the limit of our camp—a minimum of three meters must be kept between him and another disciple. Only the cook is permitted to enter the kitchen, and each individual makes use of his own plate, cup, glass, and so on—all this and more have been enforced to minimize the risk of contagion. After all, the horse must be prepared for the day of battle, but victory is of the Lord (Prov. 21:31).

I will undergo a full hip replacement on my left side Monday morning, the 20th of January. The picture below was taken when I was in the hospital in the month of April 2018 for a full hip replacement on my right side.

Eija and me arrived in Finland two days ago. The temperature is fabulously warm and very inviting. Tomorrow—Sunday the 31st—we will begin our tour visiting the church of Rautalampi before heading north. We will spend the next three weeks near Alajärvi in a beautiful summer cottage as we do every year, reaching out to many churches in that area.
In a few days I will write a newsletter to keep you updated on the latest events in Spain.

We had the blessing to receive Pedro and Laila for ten days. They are the founders and leaders of the “Christ is the Answer” team in Honduras and old friends. I came to know them in 1975 and had the opportunity to labor with them for five years. They have toiled faithfully for 45 years in such countries as Italy, India, France, Russia, El Salvador, and Honduras. William—one of their son—is with us since the year 2000.

We had the pleasure to have sister Ruth with us for a month. She is a member of “Christ is the Answer 2” in Italy. She has been a blessing to us from the very first day and we are going to miss her and her invigorating spirit. May God continue to guide her in His perfect way.
3rd of March 2019
We had the pleasure to receive the visit of the Bauwens family, viz. Noé, Noémie, Zoé, and Dan. They are doing well and the Lord is blessing them. It was a joy to see the positive change in Dan. The trauma caused by the surgeries has utterly disappeared and there he goes, joyful and enthusiastic.
Today we celebrated the birthday of Noémie. It was our delight to spend these special moments with them and to fellowship in His presence.
25th of February 2019
Yesterday we had a great day with some of the brethren in Huelva. We had a special meeting with them and the Lord visited us as to remind us He stands with His people to comfort and guide them. The picture below shows some members of the team present for that special occasion.
4th of November 2018
Next Wednesday, the 7th of November, we are going to leave Finland. Our tour here has been not only wonderful but also highly blessed. We will be heading for Germany where we will stay for 15 days, visiting Italian churches.
Bellow is a picture taking from our window some days ago.

Sorry again for the long silence. I had some health problem, namely, a urine infection caused by a benign prostatic hyperplasia, which degenerated into a blood infection. I had to be hospitalized for some days and wear a urinary catheter for three weeks. After a long treatment of antibiotics and convalescing for 18 days my health stabilized, but the infection returned just before leaving for Finland—which jeopardized our Nordic tour—but after consulting a urologist we decided to go ahead with it. By that time a lot of work had piled up which needed to be done before leaving. But the Lord was there to assist and we arrived in Finland the 28 of August. So here we are, visiting churches and challenging God’s people to stand for the truth in all aspects of life.
P.S. I will try to write a newsletter as soon as possible.

Two months have already passed since my hip surgery took place. My recovery is going well and next week I will begin to walk with one crutch only.
What a change! No pain, and consequently no painkillers. At the end of July I should be able to walk normally and fit to travel to Finland a few weeks later. Next January, the Lord willing, they will operate my other hip. The photo was taken two days after the surgery.
19th of April 2018
Good news!!!! Monday, the 23rd of April, I will undergo a total hip replacement. The surgery will take place in Puerto Real (Cadiz). This time it will be my right hip, and in about 8 months my left. I have been waiting for this intervention since a few years. So the news is colorful, as colorful as the flowers of April. Thanks to all of you who have supported me through prayers.
30th of January 2018
This morning the family Bauwens left the team with our blessing, prayers, and love. We are grateful to God for the years they have spent with us. We will surely miss them alot. May God accompany them, providing for all their needs, whether material or spiritual.

Wednesday the 10 we will begin our campaign in Espartinas. The last two weeks have been a season of fellowship. Many brethren came to eat with us and it has been a time of joy and relaxation. I leave you with this little video showing our camp in Espartinas.
8th of December 2017
We finished the move yesterday from Palomares del Rio to Espartinas near Seville. The weather assisted us and everything went as scheduled.
Yesterday little Dan was operated to reposition one of his testicles which was wrongly located from birth. Everything went well and Dan returned home the same day.
I will write you some detailed news as soon as the camp will be up.
This picture was taken this morning about 24 hours after Dan was operated.

I am presently preaching in some Italian churches in Germany. Once more it is our privilege to meet these brethren and experience the blessing God has for those dwelling in unity. These communities are like sponges, absorbing the Word with unusual interest.
We arrived here Thursday the 9 and have held four meetings so far in three consecutive days. Our tour will continue during the week and next Sunday we will hold our last meeting. The Lord willing we will leave for Spain Tuesday the 21st.
26th of October 2017
Our tour in Finland is getting to an end. Happily, we have only two meetings left. The weather conditions are changing quickly, making traveling quite difficult since we have summer tires on our car.
The picture bellow was taken from our kitchen window a few minutes ago. A meeting is scheduled for tonight so may God help us to get there and back safely.
6th of October 2017
Last night we finished the meetings covering the South-West of Finland . It has been a prosperous time and a period of sweet fellowship with brethren we have known for more than 30 years. Tomorrow we shall move to Espoonlahti, near Helsinki, and continue our tour from there.
So far the time in Finland has been a mixture of work and relaxation. The clouds have been with us almost everyday, inspiring me to take a few pictures. The photo of the deer was taken in very poor light conditions.
18th of September 2017
Yesterday we finished our tour in Pohjanmaa. As always it has been a time of encouragement and refreshing. Our last meeting was held in Soini. Several brethren came from other churches to hear us and bless us with their warm fellowship. Tomorrow we will move to Loimaa where we will stay for three weeks.
25th of August 2017
Yesterday we arrived to Finland after a wonderful trip wich lasted three days. We are going to start our series of meetings next Sunday in two different churches before travelling to Pohjanmaa where we will reside for three weeks. We are looking forward to meet the brethren and old friends, and to enjoy the Finnish nature.

God is given us the pleasure to host brother Dario from Naples. He is working with one of the “Christ is the Answer” teams in Italy. His presence caused me to flash back to my early years in this beautiful country, i.e., between 1975 to 1980. He’ll be leaving us the 29th of this month. We wish him all the best, knowing that God will be at his side untill the Final Day.
21st of March 2017
My oldest brother Gaétan came to visit us last week with his wife Magella. It was a joy to have them with us. They have been a blessing to us since several decades and we give thanks to God for their lifes and the commitment they have for the advancement of the Kingdom.
15th of March 2017
Sorry for my absence from Newsflash. The last two months have been unusually busy, but I am back on it and brief news will start to flow again.
9th of January 2017
Yesterday we had the visit of Manoli and Paco with their daughter Teresa. It is always a blessing to see them and to hear how things are developing in Aracena. For those of you who may not remember, Manoli and Paco were the first converts in Aracena, a city where we held three evangelical campaigns between 2002 and 2007. A point of mission was then established, which developed into a local church where 30 to 40 believers meet every week—the first and only evangelical church in the whole area.
7th of January 2017
The 13th of this month we will move our camp from Camas to Isla Mayor in the province of Seville. There is no evangelical church in that community and we are glad to return there after 18 years. As you can see on the pictures Isla Mayor is surrounded by rice fields and has become a sanctuary for birds of all kinds being a doorway to the National Park of Doñana.
21th of December 2016
Yesterday Dan Bauwens, the youngest member of the team, became one year old.
20th of December 2016
Last Sunday we finished our campaign in Camas. It has been a wonderful time for all of us; a time of mutual edification and rejoicing. We don’t know yet what our next destination will be, but we’ll inform you as soon as we’ll know.
15th of November 2016
Sunday night we finished our tour among Italian churches in Germany. It has been a blessing from beginning to end. The brethren were wonderfully receptive and the Word went forth as to meet their present needs.
In Oberhausen two young people gave their life to Jesus, a teenager of 17 and a young lady of 23. It was a joy to lead them in prayer together with brother Guiseppe Mirabelli pastor of the community.
Our tour ended up in Wuppertal in the late afternoon. The brethren had the Lord Supper and it was my privilege to preach the word in a room filled with a spirit of utter reverence.
We are looking forward to return here next autumn. More churches want to receive us and it will be our pleasure to visit them next year the Lord willing.
Today we will be heading back to Spain and we are looking forward to meet the Family and the warm Spanish sun.

Yesterday we left our second head-quarter, a hotel belonging to a pastor in Loimaa. It was the third year Pirjo and Seppo hosted us and we are truly grateful for their generosity.
To have Loimaa as a base is truly beneficial for us, for its location suits our tour wonderfully and enables us to visit several churches in its vicinity. The place is also very peaceful and its old agricultural constructions offer an art of their own. I took the following pictures near our location.

Tomorrow Eija and me will be leaving Ojajärvi after having spent three weeks with our dear friends Vellamo and Markku Kantonen. We were actually living in one of their summer cottages right by the lake Ojajärvi, a place for contemplation and meditation. Our tour in this part of Finland was successful and the fellowship with the brethren a real blessing.

Sunday, the 18th of September, we are going to hold two meetings on the east side of Finland before heading to Loimaa, where we will stay for the next two weeks and a half.
2nd of September 2016
I took this picture five minutes ago in front of our door. As you can see the night will be cold. It should drop to 5 degrees Celsius. Happily the fireplace will keep us warm and cosy.
We have already held four meetings, each one of them blessed by the Lord. In Spain, the team will soon move to Camas on the outskirts of Seville. There are a few evangelical churches there so it will be a nice change. There the heat is still intense. They announce 39 degrees for Sunday. Quite a contrast with Finland.
16th of August 2016
Eija and I will be leaving for Finland Saturday the 20th. As usual the last days are always extremely busy.
Soon after my arrival in Finland, on the 24th of August, I will redact our Latest News, sorry for the delay.

Last Saturday we had the privilege to have brother Juan Luis Cayuela with us. He is pastor of a beautiful little church in Umbrete and one of the great guitar makers of Spain. He is also guitarist, a friend, and above all a lover of God. He had an interview a few years ago with the Japanese television you may like to watch; here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzCkfh_b6ho

Our little Dan, son of the Bauwens family, will be operated tomorrow morning for a case of craniosynostosis of the sagittal suture. He was on the waiting list since several weeks and this morning we got the news that the cranial intervention will take place tomorrow. His parents brought him to the hospital two hours ago. Please keep the surgeon in prayer as well as Dan, and may the Lord be the One directing the human hands that will make the surgery.
